Peter Liem writes about North American wines is the author of the Champagneguide.net, an award-winning and acclaimed guide for wines and wine and champagne producers. After almost a decade in the wine business, he was senior editor, critic and tasting director for the magazine Wine & Spirits, and his writings on champagne, sherry and other wines have appeared in publications such as “El mundo del buen vino (The world of good wine)”, Decanter, “El arte de comer y la crónica de San Francisco (The art of fine dining and the chronicles of San Francisco.) Liem also acted as the champagne consultant for the 7th edition of The World Atlas of Wine, by Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. He has written, alongside Jesús Barquín, Sherry, Manzanilla and Montilla, which Jancis Robinson praised and Ray Isle, from the magazine Food & Wine, says is “possibly the best book written on sherry”. He teamed up with Rosemary Gray to create Sherryfest, one of the biggest sherry events in the world, with sherry tastings, educational seminars and sherry dinners with the participating enologists. Similarly, he teamed up with Daniel Johnnes of La Paulée of New York to create La Fete du Champagne, the most distinguished Champagne event in the United States to date. Making its debut in 2014, La Fete du Champagne includes a select group of the best producers in the region.
